They started digging on February 8th.
It didn't take very long to get the hole dug.
We went back two days later and it was all finished and looked a mess!
It was quite amusing because our basement in our current house is always a mess and it drives my husband crazy!
I teased him a little about it saying look they already messed it up for you!!
Next the walls go up!

 

Hello and Good News!!

We are building a new house!

These are photos of the lot.

I have no idea where 2010 went.

I didn't make a thing and spent the entire year going back and forth with the VA trying to get my husbands benefits straightened out.

If you ever have dealt with the VA it is like riding a roller coaster. As soon as you think your at the end they send you back up again and you feel like your never going to get off!!!
As some of you know (and I thank you for your support) my husband is a disabled veteran.

So we are building a specially adaptive house for him.
It's been a long process but they finally started it and I'm so excited!!
I'll be keeping you all posted with the progress.
I'll have my own studio in this house Yeah!! All of my stuff has been packed up since May - we needed the space for a guest room.
I can't wait to unpack and make a teddy or two! :->

New stuff

I made these 2 things for swaps

The first is a little snail pincushion.

I think it came out really cute.

The second is a tiny Jester pin. I love making these pin dolls. I have several waiting to be finished.

It was rather a strange day for me. My kids are all grown (17 and 19) and I didn't get to make a costume this year. :o( It is one of my favorite things to do!!

They both dressed up for parties but my daughter wore hers from last year and my son bought one.

Oh well maybe next year!

I did manage to finish a Halloween pin I was working on for a swap. The challenge was to match the pin to a card. Here it is.

I think it turned out rather cute! I hope my partner likes it!!

Oh my goodness It has been so long since I updated my blog.
Sometimes life just gets in the way of creativity and play time! :o)

I finally got a chance to finish some projects.

The first is a pin doll. It was for a swap for St. Patrick's Day. You were to make a pin after a card. I found the cutest little bug card.

The next project I finished is an elf doll holding a pincushion present. I started this little doll in November in November. I think she came out kinda cute.

I have several other projects in line to be finished. Hopefully it won't be another six months before I get something finished LOL

I finally got a little sewing time in.

What was suppose to be a quick project turned out to be a two week project. But I finally got her finished. :o)

This is little Susie - she is a puppy I made as a get well present for a friend of mine.

I had a little time to get into my studio. What a mess!!

My daughter has been in there drawing and making jewelry and eating!!!! Yes eating - I found snack wrappers and drink cans. Grrrrrrrr!!

Anyway as I was trying to clean it up so I could have space on my desk to work - I got so distracted looking at all my fabric, ribbons, beads, etc. and thinking about all the things I want to do .... Well it is not clean yet. Hopefully I will get it cleaned this weekend.

I have so many little bears and dolls dancing in my head trying to get out.

I still haven't figured out how to balance working and having sewing time. Maybe if I get my studio cleaned up it will make it easier. I have never been a very organized person. LOL

Can anyone believe that it is already mid November?!! Where did the year go? It just seemed to fly by!!
